Gaston Farm

Open Farm Days 2018

Volunteers

At Gaston Farm, a main focus is the ongoing success in raising money for projects in Africa and Nepal, and alot of what we have been able to achieve for Charity is due to a strong base of Volunteers - from Friends and Family, to Church Members, Farm Visitors and Students - we couldn't do what we do without their help.

Due to the success of the Farm and the expanding workload we are looking to recruit new Volunteers.

Although based on the farm, being a Volunteer only involves a small amount of 'farmwork' and the majority of the job is being face-to-face with the Farm Visitors. Volunteers will be expected to 'muck-in' though, with jobs including sweeping of livestock yards, car parking, litter picking, supervising the handling of the chicks and ducklings, and overseeing the orphan lamb ‘meet and greet’ pens, and we obviously try and rotate the Volunteers around the various duties, depending on their level of ability.

Last season the Volunteers helped us raise over £35,000 which went to support an Orphanage in Nepal, and a Soup Kitchen and 'homeless' project in South Africa.

Gaston Farm offers a hard working but friendly environment, and Volunteers have found their experience on the farm helpful, enjoyable and memorable.

If you are over 16 and would like to apply to join the existing Volunteer Team, download the Volunteer Form below, fill it in, and return it to us either by post, or scan it in and email it back...
